For those of you in the Pittsburgh area with dreams of hitting the Broadway stage someday, there’s an exciting opportunity available this summer.

Dreams of Hope is a “creative and performing arts organization for queer youth and allies” and they are holding their annual summer camp this August the 17-20th, which is open to LGBTA youth ages 13-17.  The camp is in Morgantown, West Virginia, and includes traditional activities like a rope course, swimming, water skiiing (ok, not that traditional….), and a bundle of acting and improv classes for aspiring performers.  All your meals and the transportation to-and-from West Virginia are included.  It costs $500, which is a little steep, but you might be able to sell it to mom as a weekend without cooking.  There are also scholarships available when you apply online.  Better hurry though!  All applications are due by August 1st.
If nothing else, check out their website: http://www.dreamsofhope.org.  The formal acting troupe meets during the school year  and puts on performances around Pittsburgh, which are very much worth seeing.
